The study was completed in 2012 and presents a comprehensive picture of Tasmania’s forest carbon stocks. This includes all significant carbon stored in living and dead biomass, soils and harvested wood products, across all forest types, land tenures and management regimes.
The report is a valuable resource that will assist forest managers, researchers and policy makers to continue to develop the science around carbon accounting in complex forest systems and to evaluate a wide range of forest and land management options for Tasmania that may emerge in the future.
The Tasmanian Government engaged consultants CO2 Australia Pty Ltd to undertake the study.
