Imagining a Different Future: Overcoming barriers to climate justice

A multidisciplinary conference examining the barriers to responding to climate change, implementing climate justice, and proposing ways forward

This conference will focus on:

  • an analysis of the barriers to action in responding to climate change
  • global governance and law
  • economics and energy structures
  • the role of science and technology
  • human psychology in relation to climate change

The three conference themes are:

  • the meaning of climate justice
  • barriers to implementing climate justice
  • how we should move forward to address these barriers

The conference will include case studies, public forums, side events and a community day on Saturday 10 February 2018.

Hosted by: The University of Tasmania, with support of its Faculty of Law, the University of Utrecht Ethics Institute, the University of Tasmania's Institute for the Study of Social Change, the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre (ACE CRC) and the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Science (IMAS).
