Presenter: Dr Sue Cook, Ice Shelf Glaciologist, Antarctic Climate & Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre
What can icebergs tell us about the future of the Antarctic Ice Sheet? Glaciologist Dr Sue Cook will talk about her work studying the floating ice shelves which occur where the ice sheet meets the ocean. Dr Cook will discuss how icebergs form, how they are affected by climate change, and how they might impact Antarctica's future contributions to sea level rise.
Dr Cook's research on the Antarctic Ice Sheet aims to improve our predictions of how fast the Antarctic will contribute to future sea level rise.
This event is an Australian Institute of Physics Public Lecture.
