Under Climate Action 21: Tasmania’s Climate Change Action Plan 2017-2021 the Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting the uptake of electric vehicles.
As part of this commitment, the Tasmanian Government provided over $600,000 in funding to support the market to install electric vehicle chargers that are accessible to the public.
The consultation feedback strongly recommended support for installation of two types of electric vehicle charger around the State. TCCO delivered three ChargeSmart Grants Programs:

The aim of the project is to increase public electric vehicle charging opportunities statewide and provide the best possible user-experience for Tasmanians and visitors to the State.
