Statewide electric vehicle charging network

Under Climate Action 21: Tasmania’s Climate Change Action Plan 2017-2021 the Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting the uptake of electric vehicles.

As part of this commitment, the Tasmanian Government provided over $600,000 in funding to support the market to install electric vehicle chargers that are accessible to the public.

The consultation feedback strongly recommended support for installation of two types of electric vehicle charger around the State. TCCO delivered three ChargeSmart Grants Programs:

  • ChargeSmart Grants - Fast Charging: to install electric vehicle chargers for drivers to charge quickly and complete longer journeys.
  • ChargeSmart Grants - Destination Charging: to install electric vehicle chargers at locations where cars are parked for longer, and charge more slowly.
  • ChargeSmart Grants - Workplace Charging: to install electric vehicle chargers at Tasmanian workplaces for use by staff.
