For Material Girl 2007 the theme was "Island Life: Through Women's Eyes".
Minister for Community Development, Michelle O’Byrne, announced the winners of Material Girl, the Women Tasmania International Women’s Day Art Competition, at the opening of the exhibition at the Moonah Arts Centre on Friday 2 March 2007.

Tasmanian Regional Arts will select artworks for a regional tour from April-November 2007. Women Tasmania will notify touring artists of their selection.
