State of Innocence

I have chosen this piece of my son with his security blanket to portray the title “State of Innocence”. I see Tasmania as being such an innocent part of Australia, so separate in many ways from the violence, corruption, drugs, over-crowding and environmental issues that swamp the Mainland. Although we do have our own issues here, they are so minor in comparison.

This innocence is my security blanket.

The fact that I, and many other Tasmanian mothers, can choose to stay at home and raise the next generation of this precious and magnificent State is something I take on with a great amour of satisfaction and pride.

Teaching them to be proud of our unique home and themselves, and not to be caught up in the issues of the Mainland …..
