Oh NO! Not back to desperate housewives

This work serves as a cautionary tale from my older generation of women to the new generation. I have used a digital image from my own series of art works based on Annie Oakley, iconic 19th century female sharp shooter. She was exceptional in her time, succeeding brilliantly in a largely male field in a time when education priviledged males. Below Annie's image is a set of dolly cutouts, pink, frilly.......derived from clothes worn by the TV soap, "Desperate Housewives", cast.

Fast forward 100 years from Annie Oakley's era. Over 50% of tertiary students now are female. Yet ten years after graduating from art school only a small percentage of these women have made it into significant art collections. Are women who succeed still the exception?
The work is deliberately ambiguous.
