A Butterfly in the Political Arena
It has struck me recently how many women are finding their way into the political arena. One has to wonder just what impact these women will have on politics and the effect politics will have in turn on these women.
The Butterfly represents the softness and ephemeral beauty of womanhood while the landscape has the masculine qualities of hard edges and ungiving solidness.
The technicolour of the landscape is offset by the mottling of brown and grey – is the landscape drawing the colour away from the butterfly or is the butterfly lending her colour to the landscape.
Today we must ask ourselves – who is changing whom?
