All Things to Everyone
"All Things to Everyone" is a play on the concept of the classical ‘Madonna and Child’ image. She is recontextualised as the 21 st Century ideal of perfect motherhood – she who is all things to everyone: the hard-nosed career mother, sexy goddess and model of maternal perfection.
It is a parody of the concept that this female ideal is realistic and achievable for all women – and that this should be the aspiration for the modern feminist woman.
It is also a celebration of motherhood, breastfeeding, and the body.
