On the entry form in section 1 for this exhibition there are five boxes printed on the sheet for the different age groups. I tick the fifth and last one which reads 56 years +.

Wow, I belong to this age group; the ageing group which one hears and reads so much about.

I want to dedicate my lariat necklace to the memory of my very much-admired friend Mary who died a few years ago at the age of 99. Mary had kept her mind busy, active and positive all her life. In her early nineties she attended classes in folk-art painting in the retirement village where she lived. When she enthusiastically told me about her new hobby she said to me: " It's getting difficult for me to work with knitting needles or a crochet hook but I can still manage to hold a paint brush". The painted wooden scissors holder on my fridge reminds me every day of this remarkable lady. Mary will always be my great inspiration.
