We can live life sheltered, (by loved ones, by barriers, by communication) cocooned, (by a hard exterior, a facade for the world to see) protected (by the distance we place around ourselves and others) we can be all this and hide behind so many things, find so many excuses as to why we do not want to find the courage to fly. The fear of the unknown, the fear of being hurt, the fear of the rest of the world slowly appearing to go to hell (if you watch and believe the news) but with a breath of fresh air we can change all that, we can pack our wings in our beauty case, our handbags and our suitcase and fly over the seas and around the world.

The small felt wings were made in response to an exhibition that I was part of at Salamanca, were I exhibited two large wings of felt (150mx1m weight approx 40grms) they are large and ethereal and so many people wanted to touch them, so I made wings in cases, so you can look but not touch.
