This painting reflects my lifelong daily visits to the beach. I have always lived near a beach, either on this island of Tasmania, the South Island of New Zealand or the South coast of NSW.

Beaches can be sociable and family experiences, solitary, contemplative experiences or exhilarating, challenging experiences.

As a result of unpredictable weather going to the beach in Tasmania can require clothing suitable for all seasons. Different beaches abound in Tasmania and each has different qualities and characteristics. You can choose a beach to suit the day, the weather, your mood and they are all fantastic and free.
