A Flight of Fantasy
This is a story about Kristal an independent boot (a metaphor for a woman) who leads an enchanting life, wandering around a beautiful remote isolated island that is close to the southern seas. One day on her many adventures Kristal meets Frederick an unhappy man who dreams of a better life.
As a young boy Frederick’s parents read to him many fairy tales and the one that captures his imagination the most is the tale of Cinderella. He dreams that one day he will fall in love and live happily ever after. When Frederick grew up he marries what he thinks is his dream Princess but over time he grows more and more discontent with his life and his wife. All his possessions and responsibilities have begun to weigh him down. He longs to be happy and free.
But one day while Frederick was day dreaming and wishing for a better life Kristal came to stay at the park where Frederick works and lives. He hopes that Kristal will be his dream come true and become his other half, The Princess that will rescue him from his dull and dreary existence. Frederick envies Kristal because he knows that she is lucky, because all around her lay treasures that he longs to explore and experience, adventures of unknown worlds waiting to be discovered. And whilst Kristal likes Frederick she does not want to be his other half because she is independent and free and he is not.
