Forest Practices Authority 1. a person with applied knowledge and expertise in environmental or natural resource management (s.4A(l)(b) of the Forest Practices Act 1985) The Forest Practices Authority is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of forest practices under the Forest Practices Act. Recreational Fishery Advisory Committee The RecFAC meets 5-6 times a year to consider issues of importance for managing Tasmania’s recreational fisheries, providing advice to the Minister and the Department. Members are not paid for their work on the Committee, however travel allowances may be paid to attend meetings. Nominations are sought from individuals or representatives of fishing associations who are able to demonstrate an ability to provide strategic input into management, research and educational planning for recreational sea fishing. An informal background briefing on fisheries management will be provided to appointees. At least one representative will be considered from each major Tasmanian region (south, north/north west-east, and the northwest/west) and there will be up to 6 other representatives who may be either individuals or representatives of sea fishing associations. Animal Ethics Committee Expressions of interest in joining the committee are sought by 26 October 2009 for the following position: Category C: The committee meets every month and members also participate in the inspection of animal facilities. The appointment will be for a trial period of six months and supsequent two-year appointment by mutual consent. The position will commence as soon as possible. Premier's Disability Advisory Council The Council assists the Government to implement its Disability Framework for Action and provides advice on whole-of-government policy and programs that impact on Tasmanians with disability. Participation on the Council is voluntary, with members reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses. The Council meets formally twice a year with up to six out-of-session meetings per year. Members will be appointed for a three year term. The closing date for expressions of interest is 5pm, Monday 19 October. Tasmanian Electoral Commission Vacancy Expressions of interest are sought from individuals who are interested in making a valuable contribution to the domocratic process in Tasmania by serving on the Tasmanian Electoral Commission in the position of member. The Member of the Commission will be expected to have an interest in, and understanding of, the Tasmanian community and its democratic traditions. A detailed knowledge of electoral systems is not necessary. All positions on the Commission require strict political neutrality. Under section 8 of the Electoral Act 2004, a person in ineligible to be appointed if that person is, or has been, in the period of 5 years immediately preceding the date of appointment:

Hobart Women's Shelter Management Collective Would you like to be part of a group of dynamic, diverse women working for change? MULTICAP seeks board members Multicap was established in 1973 to provide much needed support and assistance to families who had a family member with a physical and intellectual disability. Over the past 36 years the organisation has continued to grow and support people with disabilities in a variety of settings. The organisation started up by fundraising and highlighting the needs, this enabled it to develop a strong foundation in terms of assets that protect the organisation financially. Multicap is interested in hearing from people who have a passion for equality and opportunity for people in the community regardless of their ability; people who are innovative and forward thinking, interested in ensuring that the organisation is able to grow and serve the community for years to come. The Board of Management meets on the 4th Wednesday each month from 7pm to 9pm. Meetings are generally held at Multicap’s Office at 35 Marine Terrace (corner of Spring St) in Burnie.
