Tasmanian women recipients of the Order of Australia Medal
Women Tasmania has been able to reproduce the names of the Tasmanian women recipients of the Order of Australia Awards through the permission of the Commonwealth of Australia who retain copyright on the full material. A full index of Order of Australia Awards can be obtained from www.itsanhonour.gov.au
The Tasmanian government would like to encourage Tasmanian's to be nominated for the Order of Australia medals. Anybody in the community can nominate any Australian citizen for an award within the Order of Australia. Nominations can be made at any time of the year, the names of successful nominees appear in the Honours Lists published twice a year - on Australia Day, 26 January and on the Queen's Birthday in June.
