White Ribbon Day

The White Ribbon Foundation of Australia aims to eliminate violence against women by promoting culture-change around the issue.  White Ribbon Day falls on 25 November each year - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Office for Women. Women's Safety Agenda

Includes the Commonwealth initiative, PADV which worked with the States and Territories and the community to prevent domestic violence. PADV was established to test new ways of working, to enhance and share knowledge and develop on document good practice in preventing and responding to domestic violence. A huge body of research findings and best practice can be found on this site. A large number of publications can be downloaded as PDFs or ordered online.

Violence Against Women : Australia Says No

Information for young people, parents and the community on identifying and avoiding abusive and violent relationships and where to find help. The site was developed by the Office of the Status of Women.

Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse

The Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse is a national resource on issues of domestic and family violence policy, practice and research. The site includes a research and resources database, good practice database and has a large number of publications which can be downloaded from the site.

WESNET - The Women's Services Network

WESNET is a national women's peak advocacy body which works on behalf of women and children who are or have experienced domestic and family violence. WESNET represents a range of organisations and individuals including women's refuges, safe houses and information/referral services.

Freedom from Fear Campaign Against Domestic Violence

Freedom from Fear is a long term strategy of the Western Australian Government which focuses primarily on perpetrators and men at risk of perpetrating domestic violence. The campaign messages call upon these men to accept responsibility for their behaviour and take action to end the abuse.

Women's Safety After Separation

This site was developed by the National Council of Single Mothers with a grant from the Office of the Status of Women. The website aims to provide information to women facing separation, particularly where there is violence and abuse.
