Women's Information NetworkWomen Tasmania undertook to develop a state-wide Women's Information Network (WIN) through the establishment of information rooms in community settings, which commonly became known as WIN Rooms. This was developed after consultation with women from rural and isolated areas of Tasmania. The main aim of the rooms is to bring information to women and to enhance and promote existing services, by offering literature and information provided by Women Tasmania and other service providers. It is also hoped that by involving local women in the introduction of WIN rooms around the state, women's feelings of isolation will be decreased, and they will gain more confidence and self esteem which will in turn have the potential to encourage other women to become involved. WIN Rooms are currently located throughout Tasmania.
