About Seniors WeekA diverse program of eventsWith 365 events registered in the Seniors Week program, older Tasmanians are in for an interesting and fun week. Event organisers have been inspired by the theme “A colourful week to be grey!” and presented a diverse range of events and activities throughout the State including clogging (also known as Appalachian Mountain Tap), Middle eastern drumming, dragon boat sailing, bonsai, computer courses, film screenings, concerts, social activities and expos. Many organisations are extending a special welcome during Seniors Week with free passes to Launceston Aquatic and behind the scenes tours of police stations and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Free travel for Seniors Card holdersGetting to your Seniors Week activity is now easier than ever as Seniors Card holders travel for free on Metro and Merseylink buses. You can apply for your Tasmanian Seniors Card by going to any Service Tasmania Shop with three pieces of identification, one showing your date of birth. To be eligible for a Tasmanian Seniors Card you must be a permanent resident of Tasmania, aged 60 years or over and not working more than 20 hours per week in paid employment. Major sponsor
