Positive Ageing funding opportunities

Grants to support Positive Ageing in Tasmania are available through the Community Capacity Building Grants Program.

The Tasmanian Government supports community groups and local government to develop programs, projects and activities that foster positive ageing and work towards achieving the goals outlined in and the Tasmanian Plan for Positive Ageing.

The development of the positive ageing plan saw a wide range of community-based initiatives identified which promoted and supported positive ageing.

Through the Community Capacity Building Grants Program your organisation can apply for funding to empower communities and help individuals stay active, be healthy, happy and independent and part of their community, and in so doing, achieve self-reliance.

The Community Capacity Building Grants Program aims to support projects that:

  • showcase older Tasmanians’ talents, contributions and achievements
  • promote a positive image of older Tasmanians
  • enable social inclusion of older Tasmanians
  • ensure participation of older Tasmanians in the planning and development of activities
  • acknowledge the common interests of older Tasmanians as well as their diverse backgrounds and circumstances
  • enable older Tasmanians to express their ideas and be heard.
