The Disability Bureau promotes and supports whole-of-government action to achieve socially just policies and practices for Tasmanians with disability.

The Bureau's role is to:

• provide policy advice to Government on issues relating to Tasmanians with disability
• assist Government agencies to implement the Disability Framework for Action.  The mechanism for doing this is through the development of an agency disability action plan
• support the function and work program of the Premier's Disability Advisory Council
• administer the Companion Card program in Tasmania.
