Driver’s licence*

Eligible applicants under 65 can receive the following discounts:

  • 1 year $8.95
  • 2 years $17.95
  • 3 years $25.60
  • 4 years $34.55
  • 5 years $43.55

Driver’s licence discounts are available to people who:

  • receive a pension and hold a Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card
  • hold a Centrelink Health Care Card
  • are members of the Transport Access Scheme (for people with a severe disability).

There is no licence fee for people 65 and over, however there is a small charge if a photo is needed.

*As announced in the 2008–09 Budget, eligibility for the licence fee concession will be extended to Centrelink Health Care Card holders. These changes will be implemented during 2008–09 for eligible people with a licence expiring on or after 1 July 2008. For further information on how to access the concession ring the number provided above.

Recreational sea fishing licence

A 50 per cent discount on the licence application fee for:

  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card holders
  • Seniors Card holders from all states and territories
  • people under the age of 16.

Recreational angling licence

Savings on angling licences are available to:

  • Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card holders ($28)
  • Seniors Card holders from all states and territories ($13)
  • people aged 14–17 ($50.50).

Recreational game licence

A 20 per cent discount for recreational game licences applies for:

  • deer
  • wallaby
  • muttonbird
  • pheasant
  • wild duck
  • brown quail.

The discount is available to people who have a:

  • Centrelink or Pensioner Concession Card
  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Tasmanian Seniors Card.

A 20 per cent rebate on fees is available to people who:
