Centrelink Health Care Card

Centrelink Health Care CardThe Centrelink Health Care Card also includes the Foster Child Health Care Card and the Health Care Card for people on low incomes.

The card is available to people who are:

  • permanent Australian residents, and do not leave Australia for more than 13 weeks at a time
  • receiving a qualifying social security benefit.

They may also be available to people in certain specific circumstances, such as:

  • those receiving the fortnightly maximum rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A (by instalments)
  • a parent caring for disabled children and receiving a child carer allowance
  • a person who receives a mobility allowance but does not qualify for a Pensioner Concession Card
  • a person who holds a health care card either because of their low income or for a foster child, and meets other certain requirements.
