Licences

• Driver's licence

  

  Eligible applicants under 65 can receive the following discounts:

  • 1 year $9.30
  • 2 years $18.65
  • 3 years $26.60
  • 4 years $35.90
  • 5 years $45.20.

  Driver licence discounts are available to people who:

  • hold a Centrelink or DVA Pensioner Concession card
  • hold a white or gold card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs
  • are members of the Transport Access Scheme (for people with a severe disability).

  There is no licence fee for people 65 years and over, however there is a small photo card fee.

• Recreational angling licence

  

  Savings on angling licences are available to:

  • Centrelink or DVA Pensioner Concession Card holders (saving of $29.50)
  • Seniors Card holders from all states and territories (saving of $13.50)
  • people aged 14–17 (saving of $53).

• Recreational game licence

  

  A 20 per cent discount for recreational game licences applies for:

  • deer
  • wallaby
  • muttonbird
  • pheasant
  • wild duck
  • brown quail.

  The discount is available to people who have a:

  • Centrelink or DVA Pensioner Concession Card
  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Tasmanian Seniors Card.

• Water licence

  

  Rebates of 50, 70 or 100 per cent on certain water licence fees is available where a licence is required for taking water from watercourses for domestic and stock purposes.
